English translation

Salve, virgo salutata,
Salve, partu decorata
Salvatoris[1] omnium.

Hail, blessed virgin,
hail, made beautiful by giving birth
to the saviour of all.

Salve, gaudens resurgentem[2],
Salve, plaudens[3] ascendentem[4]
Ad caeli palatium.

Hail to you, rejoicing in him who rose,
hail to you, applauding him who rises
to heaven’s palace.

Salve, scandens ad superna,
Tuos famulos guberna
Ducens ante filium.

Hail to you, ascending the heights,
govern your servants,
leading them before your  son.

[1] salvatoris] salvatorem Librone 1, T B

[2] resurgentem] resurgente Librone 1, C T

[3] plaudens] pladens Librone 1, C

[4] ascendentem] ascendentem was corrected into ascendente in Librone 1, C; Librone 1, T has ascendente

This edition is based on Librone 1, ff. 136v–137r, where the text was written by Scribe A. The copyist made a few mistakes (‘salvatorem’ for salvatoris in T and B, ‘resurgente’ for resurgentem in C and T, ‘pladens’ for plaudens in C), which have been emended in the edition.
The subject is again Marian devotion: the Virgin Mary is directly addressed with ‘Salve’ (‘Hail’), with which almost all lines open. The three stanzas summarize Mary’s story in a nutshell: in stanza 1 the annunciation and nativity (‘virgo salutata’, ‘partu decorata’), in stanza 2 Jesus’ resurrection and ascension (‘gaudens resurgentem’, ‘plaudens ascendentem’), in stanza 3 Mary’s assumption into heaven (‘scandens ad superna’) and her role as mediator and guide for sinners (‘Tuos famulos guberna / Ducens ante filium’). The metrical form of the poem (8p/8p/7pp) hints at the fact that its primary source was a sequence for Marian devotion.
