This motet has been proposed as part of a motet cycle (C37a in the MCD) by WARD 1986, and as such attributed to Weerbeke (see http://www.motetcycles.ch/cycle/434 for further information). LINDMAYR-BRANDL 1992 and PAVANELLO 2009 have instead discarded it from the cycle on textual and stylistic grounds. Therefore also Weerbeke's authorship is doubtful.
